Since my message to you yesterday, three suspects have been identified in conjunction with the vandalism to the Black Lives Matter 横幅. I want to thank 校园安全 personnel for moving swiftly in the investigation.
The main suspect is not a member of the Susquehanna community, but two Susquehanna students will face appropriate action by the University. The incident has been reported to local law enforcement. Please be assured that these individuals no longer pose any threat to our campus.
In response to this incident and the broader range of concerns surrounding it, we are working with student leadership to develop meaningful programs following Spring Break.
As we prepared to enter the next phase of our Strategic Plan, we have been assembling a task force to 牧师iew our co-curricular student-facing programs, 实践, and policies to identify opportunities to provide a more inclusive and equitable student experience. The events of the past two weeks have expedited those efforts and lifted up the need to include an evaluation of climate in that work. The task force will be chaired by Dr. 玛丽亚穆尼奥斯, Interim Chief Inclusion and Diversity Officer, and we will provide more information about its work in the coming weeks.
We remain united with the Black members of our community. If anyone needs individual support, please reach out to 咨询 and Psychological Services, the Center for Diversity and Inclusion, the Office of Inclusive Excellence, or 学生 Life.
你的,
Jonathan D. 绿色
